Katherine wanted to believe

Katherine wanted to believe                    Date: October 16, 2012

Katherine wanted to believe her child couldn't do what we'd done without being coaxed into it. That’s only natural for any mom.

I made that easier to believe by taking the blame when the police came. But we were both just boy's being boy’s.

I didn't grow up to be the criminal Katherine had every reason to think I would become.

To many people think childhood misbehavior is retained for life.

Children all misbehave. That's part of growing up.

Children learn right from wrong through many examples and often have to suffer the consequences of their misbehaver. They need many role models to examine so they can pick and chose the best parts of each to learn from. That’s part of what is meant by the saying; “It takes a whole community to raise a child”.

There is no teacher as thorough as experience.

Katherine has said Michael was too trusting and that is true.

I even told him that at the age of seven. Her statement makes me wonder if she really knew what a great judge of character Michael was.

After all he did pick me for his Blood-Brother. What about his good friend Macaulay Culkin?

Doubting that part of him may have done almost as much harm to him as what trying to escape the truth about our past is doing to my family and theirs right now.

We are all still victims of bullying. But the best help we could hope for is the feeling we could get from helping others.
